When clear blue skies did turn to darkest grey,
And towers that stood so proud did fall away,
The world did halt and watch in deep dismay,
As countless souls were taken that fateful day.
Brave hearts did rise, midst smoke and raging fire,
Their noble deeds, we’ll never let expire.
The heroes, whose end came too soon, too dire,
Are stars now, in the heavens ever higher.
Yet from such grief, a unity did sprout,
A world united, casting hate and doubt.
In memory of those we are without,
Their spirits live, of this, we’ve no doubt.
For in our hearts, their legacies remain,
A beacon bright, through sorrow and through pain.
