WWII vet’s remains have been ID’d nearly 75 years after Tarawa battle

Leonard A. Tyma was just 21 when he and fellow Marines found themselves facing stiff Japanese resistance in November 1943 on the small island of Betio in the Tarawa Atoll of the Gilbert Islands, according to the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency.
